UEC gets export independence

United Engine Corporation (UEC) combines over 85% of the engine design bureau and production facilities of Russia. This day the UEC was granted a 5-year export/import license for independent operations on defence related products.

The permit was stamped by the RF Federal Service on Military-Technical Cooperation (FS VTS). The permit allows UEC for direct sales (without Rosoboronexport state mediator involvement) of engine spare parts and components.

Besides, the Corporation can run independently all repair works and maintenance including upgrade of previously supplied engines for helicopters and aircraft including AL-21/31 and RD-33 families, AL-55, PS-90A among the others.

The UEC was also granted the right to establish joint ventures with foreign enterprises in the field of the above mentioned activities. According to UEC CEO Vladislav Masalov, the export independence is an “important step in efficiency increase of corporation cooperation with foreign customers and partners. In a long-run it will help to form up a united global service network on aircraft and helicopter engines maintenance”.
