Visit of Russian aerospace enterprises to Singapore

Russia-Singapore Business Council under the sponsorship of company Russian Helicopters over the 15-25 February, 2017 period organizes the special-purpose business mission for the heads of Russian enterprises of aviation and space industry to India, Singapore and Philippines. During the mission it is expected to participate in two specialized exhibitions – “Aero India 2017” which will take place in Bangalore and “Aviation Festival Asia 2017” which will take place in Singapore. The purpose of the mission is carrying of the events which will contribute to the building relationships with Asian companies and government agencies for the promotion of domestic civil products in Eastern markets.

Such large and well-known in the world market companies, such as Russian Helicopters JSC, United Engine Corporation JSC, Technodinamika JSC, Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies JSC (KRET) and Air-navigation and Information Technologies JSC are involved in the mission on the Russian side. They are all included in the area of the State corporation for promoting development, manufacturing and export of high-technology industrial products of Rostec. As it well known, in 2015 Rostec adopted a new strategy, providing for, among other things, an increase of share of civil products to 50% and above by 2025 in the total volume of products manufactured by enterprises of the Corporation. In addition, the new strategy provides for the increase of the share of exported products. Under the conditions of sanctions imposed against a number of enterprises on the part of Western countries and the so-called turn to the East a growing interest of high-technology domestic companies to the Asian markets is clear and understandable. Moreover, they currently amount to about 40 percent of world trade and the Russian share in it is small for now.

Russian companies will present their own design of equipment, components and software. Presented developments meet and exceed the same world samples. In particular, the group of companies Air-navigation and Information Technologies JSC will present a system of air traffic control "Galaxy", which has already taken a rightful place in Russia and began to successfully enter foreign markets. The system provides safety and ensures systems safety for air traffic control. A unique mathematical model makes it one of the best in the world.

The companies such as Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies JSC, State Scientific Research Institute of Civil Aviation, The Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation, Concern Avtomatika as well as Intelcom Line, USAR+, BG-Optics, the Pulkovo Airport management company and Roscongress Foundation  take a remote participation in the business mission. Their interests will present the experts of the managing company of Russia-Singapore Business Council – LLC RSTradehouse.

On the sidelines of the exhibitions as well as alongside with them it is planned to hold the meeting with the largest consumers and manufacturers of components and software from Asian countries. For example, the meetings are scheduled in India with companies such as Aequs Aerospace, Tata Advanced Sytems Ltd, Pawan Hans Limited, as well as with the representatives of the Airports Association of India, Association of private airports of India, airport operators from Bangalore, Cochin etc.

The negotiations are planned in Singapore with the representatives of aviation industry organizations. It should be noted that both Singapore universities are among 30 of the best in the world and the cooperation with them concerning the training and retraining of specialists and conducting of joint applied research are carried out by largest world companies and aerospace centers (Boing, Airbus, Tales, NASA etc.). United Engine Corporation expresses an interest to the cooperation to the design and application of composite materials with NTU.

One of the issues to be resolved in Singapore is the selection of a platform for show room of Russian high-technology products and related services. Its opening is planned for the end of 2017. Russian enterprises of aviation and space industries as well as IT and logistics companies will take part in the opening. The opening of the showroom is coincided with the 50th anniversary of building diplomatic relations between Russia (the USSR) and Singapore, which will be celebrated in 2018. The show room itself should become a permanent representative office with the functions of promotion, designed not only for Singapore market but also the markets of other countries in South and South-East Asia.

During the mission the international electronic B2B platform of aerospace industry RSTrade (www.rstradehouse.com) will be presented to a wide range of Asian companies, the operator of which is the managing company of Russia-Singapore Business Council LLC RSTradehouse. High-technology products, related services in the format of the exchange (logistics, financial services, legal and insurance services, etc.) and a separate module on contract manufacturing, which allows in particular to carry out international cooperation of enterprises to solve engineering and production tasks are presented on the platform. The development of this electronic platform is provided for by decision of the intergovernmental Russian-Singapore Commission of high level, the seventh meeting of which took place in November 2016 in Singapore. On the Russian side the Commission is headed by Vice-Prime Minister of Russian Government Igor Shuvalov. Currently high-technology products of domestic and foreign companies are placed on the platform. In the near future it is expected to create on its basis the specialized module for the enterprises of aerospace industry. At the moment the platform RSTrade operates in English, Russian and Indonesian. It is planned to translate it into other Eastern languages. Attraction of new foreign partners will contribute to the development of both the platform and the growth of the total export-import turnover of high-technology and high-margin civil products.

Summarizing the results of the business mission the business meeting of the representatives of companies that took part in it will take place in Russia on the basis of the State corporation Rostec, and it will be outlined how to achieve a synergy effect. It is expected to develop a roadmap aimed at joint promotion of the Russian brands and products to the Asian markets.
